You may be wondering why I'm posting about margaritas in December. Well, I'm a sucker for a good margarita and I've been enjoying the heck out of a certain recipe since discovering it this past summer.
I never knew exactly what went into a good margarita until I learned how to drink tequila by itself. My friend, and Everyday Events co-conspirator, Glenda Carter, and I were celebrating her birthday at her mom's house. It was a Margaritaville-themed pool party, so there was much tequila on hand. Her mom had given us a shot of reposado and anejo tequilas and I could tell the difference immediately! No bitter punch in the taste buds that makes you mouth water and you gut quiver!
I've since researched the perfect margarita and I've got a simple, yummy recipe for you!
I like to use el Jimador Reposado. It's only $15-18 at your local grocery/liquor store and makes a delectable margarita.
For a fun summer twist, you can add muddled watermelon or blend with frozen strawberries to kick it up to the next level!
My 10-year-old daughter made this banana bread to take to our family's Thanksgiving meal and it was a huge hit! Pair it, while still warm, with the most delicious cinnamon butter, and you've got a nice little treat for yourself.
